Clippers Win Tight Game Against Kings

The Los Angeles Clippers took control of a tight game in the fourth quarter to defeat the Sacramento Kings, 88-78, in the Las Vegas Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Sunday.
Tied 66-66 after three quarters, the Clippers outscored the Kings, 22-12, in the fourth quarter. The Kings made just six of 20 field-goal attempts in the quarter, scoring two points in the final 3:45, and committed four turnovers.
Sacramento was beaten on the boards, 47-38, grabbing just six offensive rebounds, and Justin Jackson, who scored a game-high 28 points, was the only King to make a 3-pointer. He was 4-of-7 from long range as his teammates went 0-of-10.
Fellow second-year man Frank Mason totaled 12 points and six assists for the Kings (0-2). Harry Giles added eight points and five rebounds. Zach Auguste finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Sindarius Thornwell paced the Clippers (1-1) with 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander totaled 21 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Jawun Evans led the second unit with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Clippers battled the Houston Rockets on Monday, and the Kings play the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
