Hawks Comeback To Beat Pacers

Tyler Dorsey and 2018 first-round pick Trae Young combined for 47 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 107-101 win over the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the Las Vegas Summer League playoffs Wednesday evening.
The final score was in no way indicative of how the game started, as the Pacers (1-3) doubled up the overmatched Hawks (2-2) by a 32-16 margin in the first quarter. Although Atlanta was much more competitive in the second, they still headed to the halftime locker room facing a 62-40 deficit.
The Hawks chipped another nine points off the Pacers’ lead during the third quarter, setting up a final period where they avenged the lopsided start to the contest. Atlanta would trounce Indiana, 35-16, to close out the comeback win.
There were only four lead changes overall, with the Hawks playing catchup the majority of the game. Atlanta won the rebounding battle, 45-38, and ended up draining 54.8 percent of their 73 attempts, including 39.3 percent of their 28 tries from distance.
Dorsey added eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block to his team-leading 24 points. Young, meanwhile, supplied 23 points, eight assists and two steals. Both players shot 50.0 percent from the field. Omari Spellman turned in 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block. Jock Landale and Antonius Cleveland registered matching eight-point tallies, with the former also registering six rebounds and the latter adding three rebounds and one steal.
Alex Poythress led the Pacers with 21 points on 10-for-17 shooting, and also posted seven rebounds and two steals. Aaron Holiday contributed 13 points, nine assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block. Alize Johnson generated a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double that also included three assists and one steal.
Travis Leslie managed 12 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Edmond Sumner led the second unit with 12 points as well, while also dishing out three assists, hauling in two rebounds, recording one steal and posting one block.
The Hawks advance to face the Portland Trail Blazers, while the Pacers await their consolation matchup.
