Deandre Ayton's Double Double Leads Suns Past Kings

Deandre Ayton posted a double-double to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 71-63 victory against the Sacramento Kings in the Las Vegas Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Saturday.
The first overall pick in this year's draft, Ayton totaled 21 points, 12 rebounds, a block and a steal, shooting 8-of-11 from the field in 22 minutes.
The Suns outscored the Kings 22-10 in the third quarter to lead 55-39, which proved too much for Sacramento to overcome. Neither team shot well from the field. Phoenix hit 36.4 percent, while Sacramento shot 32.4 percent, including going 2-of-19 from 3-point range.
Davon Reed finished with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Suns. Josh Jackson had 10 points, though he struggled with his shot for the second consecutive game, going 3-of-12 from the field. Dragan Bender, the fourth overall pick in the 2016 draft, was held scoreless in 24 minutes, missing five field goals and four foul shots.
Harry Giles, who missed his rookie season last year with a knee injury, paced the Kings with 17 points, six rebounds, five steals and a block. This year's second overall pick, Marvin Bagley III, had 15 points and seven rebounds. Justin Jackson finished with eight points and four steals, and Frank Mason had seven points and five assists.
The Kings return to the court against the LA Clippers on Sunday, while the Suns play the Orlando Magic on Monday. Bagley will not play on Sunday and is doubtful for Tuesday's game after suffering a tweak in his right hip flexor/groin area.
