College Football Recap Week 1

Offensive Players of the week for week 1:
Kevin Lucas from Tulsa had 13 receptions, 233 yards, 3 touchdowns, sent the game into overtime with the last touchdown in regulation
James Conner from Pittsburgh had 153 rushing yards on 14 carries and had 4 rushing touchdowns
Rashad Greene from Florida ST had 11 receptions, 203 yards, and scored a touchdown
Tyler Murphy from Boston College was 17-24, threw for 173 yards, and threw a touchdown, had 13 carries, 118 rushing yards, and ran the ball in once.
Ameer Abdullah from Nebraska had 232 rushing yards, 21 carries, and had 1 rushing touchdown
Brady Marquez from Texas Tech had 11 catches, 184 yards, and had 2 touchdowns
Brandon Doughtry from Western Kentucky went 46-56, threw 569 passing yards, and had 6 touchdown passes
Kyle Pohl from Akron had 4 touchdown passes, was 23-36, threw 308 yards, ran for 48 yards on 7 carries
Jarvin Franklin from Western Michigan ran for 163 yards and had 3 touchdowns on the ground
Dee Hart from Colorado State had 174 yards 139 of those yards were on the ground
Cody Kessler from USC was 25-37 threw 394 passing yards, threw 4 touchdowns, had 28 rushing yards, and had 1 rushing TD
Kenny Hill from Texas A&M had 511 passing yards threw 44-60, and had 3 touchdowns
Todd Gurley from Georgia had 293 all purpose yards, returned a kickoff for a 100 yard touchdown, ran for 198 yards, and had 3 rushing touchdowns
Tyler Jones from Texas State went 21-25 in the air, threw for 278 passing yards, had 4 passing touchdowns, ran the ball 6 times for 51 rushing yards
Of those players I gave my offensive player of the week to Kenny Hill from Texas A&M. His performance was the fifth best performance in SEC history in terms of passing yards.

Defensive players of the week for week 1:
Tavon Young from Temple 2 INT's Temple's defense limited Vanderbilt to 28 yards on offense and forced seven turnovers
Henry Coley from Virginia had 14 tackles, 2 sacks, and had a forced fumble
Johnathan Aiken from Rutgers had 7 tackles, a forced fumble, and sealed the deal by breaking up a pass with less than a minute to go to give Rutgers the win
Mike Tuaua from TCU had 7 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and recovered 1 fumble
Jens Jeters from Texas San Antonio had 5 tackles, 1 fumble, and 1 forced fumble
Nate Holley from Kent ST had 2 forced fumbles, recovered a fumble, had 18 tackles, and broke up one pass
Tony Annese from Central Michigan had 2 INT's, and 2 tackles
Mark Nzeocha from Wyoming had 12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, and deflected 3 passes
Eric Kendricks from UCLA had 16 tackles, a forced fumble which was returned for a touchdown, and had an INT which he returned for a touchdown
Amarldo Herrera from Georgia had 12 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss
Mitch Lane from Louisiana Monroes had 6 tackles and an INT returned for a touchdown
Of those great performances this weekend I gave my defensive player of the week to Tavon Young. Was hard to decide my player of the week on defense but how can you go against a player of the game in a defense that only allowed 28 offensive yards
