Marshall 42, Miami 27

-On offense and defense, RB Devon Johnson, WR Angelo Jean-Louis, OG Blake Brooks, OG Michael Selby and DE Arnold Blackmon made their first career starts.
-CB Antavis Rowe was first Herd true freshman to play at Miami (Ohio), when he subbed at corner when Marshall went to nickel on RedHawks' third down on first series. OT A.J. Addison and TE Ryan Yurachek also saw action.
-Cato's streak of consecutive games with a TD pass extended to 33 on his first touchdown pass to Eric Frohnapfel (11-yarder in the first quarter), which leads active FBS quarterbacks. The NCAA record belongs to Russell Wilson (NC State and Wisconsin), with 38 from 2009-11. Oregon's Marcus Mariota is second among current FBS players, with 26 games heading into Aug. 30 (late night) opener versus FCS member South Dakota.
-Angelo Jean-Louis' first quarter catch makes him the 25th Herd player to catch a Cato pass in the quarterback's career.

-WR Tommy Shuler's first-quarter TD catch is No. 17 for his career, in sole possession of 14th place all-time for Herd (next on the list with 18 are Nate Poole, LaVorn Colclough and Antavious Wilson; then it skips to No. 10 Jim Swierczek's 22).
-Cato's three TD passes gave him 61 red zone TD passes in his career against just one interception (at Tulsa in 2013)
-TE Eric Frohnapfel had the first two TD game of his career.
-Tyler Williams' 64-yard punt matched the third-longest of his career (at UCF, 2012). He had a 65-yarder in 2013 vs. Gardner-Webb and career-long 66-yarder in win at Rice in 2012.

-RB Devon Johnson reached 151 yards on 19 carries in his first game as MU's running back.
